Welcome to the 9th International Symposium on Cladocera

The organizers of the 9th International Symposium on Cladocera designed this meeting following the traditions of previous meetings. This means that we have only one plenary session, where everybody can learn from each other. We will have plenty of time for social contacts and discussions and there will be the half-day mid-conference excursion to Milan. To celebrate the publishing of the Daphnia genome earlier this year we decided to invite two keynote lectures: Prof. Winfried Lampert and Dr. John Colbourne.

Cladocera 2011 addresses to everybody involved in doing cladocera research or who uses cladocera as model organisms. We will address especially ecology, food chain studies, genetics, genomics, systematics and evolution, but researchers working on every other field are welcome.
